Program Offered

MA, or MSc

2 years of Duration

The HEC (Higher Education Commission) has prescribed the following program for Master level degree course for Universities in Pakistan. 

The Master in Criminological Sciences (MCS) will be a two years programme.

The Master in Criminology would be of four semesters.

Courses

The courses are taught semester wise. 

Five core courses of 100 marks are taught in the first semester. These courses include:

Essentials of Criminology

Crime and Criminal Behavior - Theoretical Perspectives

Criminology Methods of Research

System of Criminal Justice

The Correctional Institutions

During MCS (Previous) 2nd Semester five core courses of 100 marks each are offered.  These are:

The Islamic Perspective of Crime and Punishment

The Rule of Policing

The Importance of Forensic Sciences in Criminology

Study of Terrorism and Violence

Importance of Criminal Investigation

MCS (Final) 3rd Semester

Two core courses of 100 marks each are taught in the third semester. 

The study of Penology

The Rule and Importance of Community Justice and crime prevention

In the end a Research thesis will require to be written.  

Besides these courses, two more courses carrying 100 marks each are required to be chosen in the first semester of MCS (Final).
